3.1 Overview of SMara Civil Engineering Services

SMara Civil Engineering Services is a 100% black owned Civil Engineering Construction and Consulting services firm established in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2007 and registered in 2010.

SMara offers unbiased and independent Professional Services covering the entire project cycle from concept development to project commissioning. We pride ourselves by promoting innovative approach and rendering service excellence with respect to Project Management, Planning, Design, Construction Supervision, Construction and Commissioning solutions to our Clients, and Communities that we serve diligently and ethically.

With respect to challenges expected and some experience in our profession, we pride ourselves with the will to uplift student Technicians/Engineers and also, the upliftment of communities with our corporate social investment initiatives with respect of encouraging the appointment of up and coming SMMEs in projects that we have so far commissioned. We have a wealth of expertise that the management team and the staff complement have accumulated over the previous years in the Civil Engineering/ Construction Industry.

The management team brings working experience in Planning, Design, Construction Management, Construction and Maintenance of Roads and Transportation Infrastructure, Municipal Infrastructure, Water and WasteWater Engineering, Institution Infrastructures, Residential Infrastructures, Tender Processes and Procedures and SMMEs Development
